With the continuous release and powerful upgrades of Closed Source Models, this affirmation gives me the peace of mind to stick with and continue researching ComfyUI. Thank you to the founding and operations team.
Please don't succumb to enshittification with this investment. Investors, by definition, will want to see a return on their investment, which means profits.
Open source doesn’t last forever. Especially when you raise money on top of it, eventually your investors will demand a more profitable closed source fork.
I feel bad for programmers who believe in the “open source mission”. You simply haven’t lived long enough in the business world.
"This looks like a model that people are going to try once, wait more than 10 minutes for a 1MP image and then never use again so it's probably not worth implementing."
"It's a very inefficient model that doesn't really do anything special and the license on the code sucks."
Rock on! I'm going to be honest, even if comfyUI went closed source I think most of us have enough forks and back ups and zip files to cope lol. As it is now I can make nodes to do whatever I need, even locally using ollama I have tools to help make nodes if need be :P. I got python libs for days lol. I actually recommend everyone do this. Your favorite repos, fork them. Your most used python libraries, make a backup of them in a zip file. Make backups of these on an external, cloud if you're comfortable doing so. It is always best to be prudent just in case.
Losing internet for a few days, I was still able to keep making stuff, making nodes and working on my UI's. Generating videos and music, voices, running tests on voice morphs and Wan Sound to video. I lost internet, and it was like nothing had changed beyond how I shared my stuff. I used my phone instead, that was about it. No tools lost, backups for everything, tools to make new things offline in code, voice, music, sound effects, images, and more with a combo of ComfyUI and Ollama.
You would be someone cool to know. I'd love to make my my own nodes, to be honest: I do have a couple of tasks need doing that I just know would be quicker and easier with a custom node. I've done some python, so it's not a completely foreign language and have ollama (gemma3 and other models) I can run on my system. Guess it's just a matter of putting it all together...
There a lot of coding centric models now. I end up using deepcode a lot. It varies depending on the task. But most of the LLMs can definitely help bridge the knowledge gap. Claude is by far ny favorite for code assistance.
A salute to comfy.org and all the fine contributors as well as the corporate support. And, of course, comfyanonymous for getting the Comfy ball rolling. (If I'm redundant, you get my drift! Don't know all the developers' names). As a non-technical experimenter with AI, I struggle but all the postings get me through . . . and then another "RIP" model comes out! I'm just a tinkerer but I appreciate all the work that gets put in to this project! Salute!

Extraordinary!
I'm with you since the beginning. Even when 11 11 was dominating, I was a loyal follower.
Congratulations! That is amazing. Is there any way for us commoners to invest $1000?
Congrats!
