In October 2022, Comfyanonymous discovered Stable Diffusion and got hooked—not because of some vague “make AI accessible” mission, but out of a raw obsession with image generation. The first experiments? Generating better images of characters with fennec ears. Out of that obsession, ComfyUI was born.
What started as a playground for pushing diffusion models quickly became one of the most powerful, flexible open-source platforms for creative AI in the world. Today, millions of artists, developers, and studios rely on ComfyUI to create images, videos, 3D assets, audio, and beyond. And now, with $17 million in funding from world-class investors such as Pace Capital, Chemistry, Abstract Ventures and many others, we’re doubling down.
