Cinematic camera controls. Character consistency. Relight. Face swap. Most of these features sit behind a subscription somewhere, but every one of them is a workflow underneath. Open weight models have already caught up on capability, but what’s still closed is the layer on top: the interfaces, the pipelines, the polish that turns a model into something people actually use. It’s our mission to support open-source creativity, and there’s no technical reason that layer has to stay closed.
The Comfy Developer Platform is here, and we’re handing it to the community with one challenge: open source your favorite paid feature in two weeks!
Pick a feature people currently pay for and reimagine it in the open. Deploy your workflows as production APIs with Comfy API, build locally with the Comfy SDK, or call frontier image, video, 3D, and audio models through Comfy Router. Then publish the repo with a license so anyone can run it, fork it, swap the model, and ship it.
On October 13th, we’re bringing together the best of the OSS ecosystem for one night in San Francisco—the people building on ComfyUI, the model labs backing the challenge, and the team behind the Comfy Developer Platform, all in one room. Join for build time with the Comfy team, a peek at what the community is making, and to connect with open-source enthusiasts IRL.

How to Enter
Every submission must include:
Requirements:
Your work must be built using the Comfy Developer Platform or Comfy Cloud, or on local using the Comfy SDK
Your repo must include an open-source license and enough setup detail that someone else can run it on their own machine
Any other tools, models, or techniques you want to combine with it with are fair game and must be explained in your demo video
All submissions must be lawful, SFW, and must not contain unlicensed IP or likenesses
By submitting, you agree to allow ComfyUI, NVIDIA, and Runpod to feature your work with credit across our channels
One submission per person
About the demo video: we’re judging the work, not your video editing. Video quality is only scored in the Most Entertaining category. Everywhere else, a plain screen recording scores exactly as well as a polished cut.
How Winners Are Chosen
Every submission is reviewed by a joint panel of developers from ComfyUI, NVIDIA, and Runpod using the criteria below. OSS bonus categories will be scored by the model provider teams themselves. Each entry is eligible for both a main prize category and an OSS bonus category!
